Ubuntu tailored for Raspberry Pi 3 B+
The RPi 3B+ performs significantly slower than the RPi 4 and isn't ideal for running a full desktop version of Ubuntu. If you don’t need a desktop setup, consider using Ubuntu Server instead. For a more suitable experience on ARM A53 chips like the 3B+, Raspbian and Armbian are excellent choices—they’re Debian-based and closely match Ubuntu in functionality.
Ubuntu Desktop is approved only for Pi 4 because of its RAM needs. As noted by others, you might consider the server or core editions. There may be certain capabilities or tools in Ubuntu that Raspberry PI OS lacks. https://ubuntu.com/download/raspberry-pi
