I own a laptop with n3060 and limited RAM. Hardware acceleration for video isn't supported on Linux, and Ubuntu uses a lot of resources. The best choice would be to use H264ify and Firefox—recent versions had partial support for H264. You might also prefer Linux Mint over Ubuntu since it runs more smoothly on CPU resources.
Ubuntu needs more hardware than Windows. Probably better to uninstall Ubuntu and set up Windows 7 or 8 instead. It might work with Windows 10, but stability could be an issue.
Do you have any idea what word stable means? or if that machine can actually run windows7/8? because you cant. No chipset and gpu drivers are available for that platform on anything earlier than W10. I'll repeat, dont give advice on things you have no clue about.
Others have mentioned that hardware acceleration isn't available on Linux. You can turn it on (Firefox only): https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/enabling-...1-04/22081. It's unclear how effective it is, but keep in mind that Linux differs from Windows, and you might not get the same results.
This statement indicates a strong disapproval of the situation involving company X and Y.
