Ubuntu 18.04 reported several issues: system overclocking regardless of BIOS settings, frequent USB port failures, constant random crashes, unexpected error messages, and an unstable OC that persists even after switching to Windows. Resetting the CMOS is the only known fix. Anyone dared Canonical to make this OS function properly?

It has been functioning well in the VM for several days. The only issue was occasional error messages, which I thought were caused by the VM setup.

Is there any method to prevent my setup from becoming overly advanced? The 5GHz band is quite powerful...

I determine the cause by checking the hardware details and system logs. The issue might stem from the processor type and board configuration. It’s possible the board is overclocking the CPU automatically. Since you’re using Lubuntu, the problem hasn’t appeared after six months of using the USB, suggesting it’s not a persistent hardware fault.

FX-8370 & MSI 970 AM3+ confirm Ubuntu 18.04 is installed. This doesn't occur with Ubuntu 14.04 or Windows 10.
