When launching your newly installed Ubuntu GNOME setup, it immediately displays a grey screen with dark borders and no GRUB interface. You've tried entering commands to access the command line, but it isn't working. This can be frustrating, especially as a new user setting up your desktop. If you're having trouble getting through the installation steps, consider checking the boot configuration files or consulting the official Ubuntu documentation for troubleshooting tips.

Have you paused it for a while? Then reinstall it.

I left it around 30 minutes ago and attempted a reinstall, but I'm trying to reinstall once more.

Great idea, this should likely resolve the issue. If needed, you can re-upload the boot image to USB and allow Ubuntu to configure it automatically. Just remember, Linux setup can be tricky if you're not familiar with the process.

The process of disabling secure boot is typically quick and automated, but it may require a few seconds depending on your system configuration.

I also attempted a reinstall, but the problem persists.

Turn on the power button at startup to access the boot menu. In Ubuntu, locate the line starting with "linux go to the end" and insert "nomodeset". Try pressing F10 or Ctrl+X to restart. Check your graphics card—this might be a driver problem.
