Hello, your Kingston 120GB SSD with Ubuntu may be experiencing performance issues when using the mouse due to possible bottlenecks. Check for adequate storage speed and consider upgrading to a faster SSD or optimizing drivers. Your PC specs suggest a decent build, but the mouse lag could stem from driver conflicts or insufficient RAM.

What about the rest of the system? Does it look fine? If yes, it might just involve searching for mouse settings in Unity and checking for a speed option. You could try xset xset m 2 1—first number is acceleration, second is threshold. For example, after 1 PX (second value), the mouse will move to x2. I haven't tried this before, but some sources say avoid using zero values.
