Hey everyone, I'm trying to get DXVK support on my system. I followed a tutorial, restarted it later, but it still won't boot. I cleared the PPA, ran apt update and upgrade, removed lightdm and switched to gdm3, and even reconfigured xorg. It's possible multiple drivers are installed, which made things confusing. I'm wondering what should be done. If I could back up any data before reformatting everything, that would help, though I'd rather keep my work intact. I really appreciate any advice.

Check the logs in /var/log and search for xorg entries. Observe their messages when attempting to launch X.

Thanks! I'll check back tomorrow and share any findings. It's too late to work on electronics with a cold, so I'll save that for later. Appreciate your prompt response!

It seems unrelated to xorg, but I encountered a boot-up error with an autoreport issue. Apport appears to be missing something—specifically, it blocks the start process. I can access it through secure boot and have backed up important data. I’ll attempt to disable Apprentice completely to determine if that resolves the problem.

I spent some time fixing things, then I thought it’d be faster to use a live USB, move the missing files, and reinstall Ubuntu. It wasn’t worth the trouble and stress. Okay.
