Hello everyone It's my first post here and my english isn't good, so I hope your eyes will not bleed I want to ask you guys about Ubuntu 16.04 and his problems with DRM content. I mean, I want to watch sports, movies etc on providers sites from my country (Poland). When I enter site and choose one of the channels, it's just don't start and says "DRM - no license given". I read in internet, that is normal problem for Linux, cuz they (providers) don't support this systems. I don't know it's true. Is there any chance to fix it? I started using Ubuntu around a one week ago, so i'm totally new. Good Day Everyone! Greetings

Ubuntu 16.04 reached its end-of-life on April 30th, 2021. It’s advisable to upgrade to a newer version. I use mostly DRM-protected files, but Firefox often asks for the necessary dependencies when you first try to view something protected—usually it works afterward. I don’t know how other browsers handle this.

It might be challenging, but starting with a current system is essential for modern solutions to function properly.

Update your operating system to a supported version. Ensure your web browser is updated to the newest release of a well-supported engine like Firefox or Chrome. Also, clarify how you arrived at Ubuntu 16.04 during your initial Linux experience.

My laptop is quite outdated, around 12 years old. It's a Toshiba Satellite A200. I attempted to install the latest Ubuntu or Pop OS 22.04, but the installation encountered many errors that couldn't be resolved. Probably because it's an x32 processor (core 2 duo) and not x64. Even if installation were possible, it only has 3GB of RAM, which would be problematic for this hardware. I'm currently using Mozilla Firefox, version 88.0 (32-bit). It seems it might be the latest available, but it's likely too outdated to run smoothly. Thanks for your help! Have a great day everyone!

core2duo is a high-performance processor. Try xubuntu for a lighter alternative.

It looks like the current software might not support resolving the issue. Have a great day! Hello everyone!

You don't have to go for the newest options; just choose something reliable that gets maintained.

Absolutely. It looks like DRM updates frequently, which means the software needs to stay current.

Only compatible options are required. For instance, Firefox's ESR version is still in the v100 range, allowing you to view DRM content without issues.
