Today a surge caused a power outage while I was playing unranked on r6 Seige. My internet dropped completely, and when I tried to reconnect the game ended abruptly. I received a two-day abandon notice. I thought about appealing it, so I went to Ubisoft’s support page and logged in. It had been a long time since I used that account, so getting my password right took several attempts. Once inside, I was in for just under a minute before being logged out again and sent back to the login screen with a blocked status due to too many failed attempts. I went to the support chat for help, but they only offered general recovery options. To get a password reset or account recovery assistance for this exact issue, I had to log in using my original account details through the same portal where I was blocked. Eventually, after changing the password, I was still denied access.
Multiple accounts are protected this way. Strong security is beneficial. Some financial institutions are less strict, which frustrates me. Do you offer two-factor authentication? If not, it could be a good investment as it may increase trust in your login.
I encountered a comparable problem with Origin. I lost my login details, visited the support site, discovered a section mentioning "please contact us to recover the account." However, reaching out or displaying your email address required being logged in first.
