since it supports 4GB storage, though 500MB feels like terrible RAM
Operating at 30-40 fps doesn't necessarily indicate poor optimization. It's possible they simply raised the limits well past what most systems could manage, enabling users with better hardware to get more performance. However, disabling these settings might disappoint some users.
I'm currently downloading the preload. I'll be able to share my impressions once it's finished. Testing on a 6700k and 980ti will give accurate results. Your question about viewing games on compressed YouTube videos is a bit confusing.
I was quite satisfied with Unity's performance on my 970, so I'll consider picking it up later when I have more funds.
Are you the only one checking these updates and feeling puzzled since it won’t be available for at least another four hours? It seems to be using Greenwich Mean Time. I believe there have been reports about codes or access being mistakenly granted to several users over two weeks ago, affecting more than a few PCs.
mellow: However, as the poster mentioned, the game isn't fully finished yet. Updates might help improve things.
Regarding Assassin's Creed, the main issues were frame-rate inconsistency and stuttering rather than just GPU performance. It seemed more related to temporary CPU limitations than the graphics card. Recent patches reportedly made a difference.
It was ready to start at 11PM local time, so I spent about half an hour gaming. I’d like to play longer but need to rest soon. My computer runs smoothly—details are listed in my profile. The CPU stayed under 58°C, while the GPU hit 73°C at full power. With the TV set to 60Hz, screen tearing appeared, so I used v-sync to limit it to 60 for most of the time (about 80%). When turned off, it was mostly stable between 60-70 frames per second. The lowest frame rate was around 50fps. I counted frames using Fraps and recorded the session just in case. The visuals are great, animations flow well, lip sync works nicely. Next time I’ll lower the graphics to see if it affects my perception and check the FPS again. Overall, I enjoy the game—it’s engaging without being too tough yet. That’s nice since I appreciate stories and fun over intense challenges. But honestly, I’ve only played an hour so far. It could get tougher.
