They delayed sharing review copies until a few days before the release, then released a message warning against relying on reviews until full gameplay was experienced. It seems they aimed to avoid further negative attention, though it appears they were seeking another delay. Reports from certain publications highlight significant problems (though far less severe than Unity’s issues): http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/12/...pressions/ A related update about the day 1 patch was posted by the same author: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/12/...-er-crews/

They understood the reasoning because players would be limited to solo play, leaving only reviewers present. The experience would feel like a one-on-one session, preventing interaction with typical users.

It seems you're confused about the purpose of the Crew. Can you clarify what you mean?

Imagine a game centered around mastering driving skills in a virtual environment, blending realism with engaging challenges.

While this is true, the same logic would apply to basically any game based around a social experience, and that's a lot of games. Most of those publishers don't make statements telling their consumers not to trust reviews. Reputable reviewers are honest about what parts of the game they did and did not get to play, and there's usually plenty to review about a game before you even get to the social systems. Especially with an 2014 Ubisoft title where the first question is whether or not the game even works as advertised.
