My brother attended university and handed over his Steam account to me. I understand you can’t combine accounts, but there’s a simpler method than logging in repeatedly.

The only option is to reach out to Steam support, describe your issue, and request the transfer of games. You can also create two separate Steam accounts linked to each other (each as a basic installation) or share the account within your family.

I used to have my gaming PC and laptop on separate accounts, which made it simple for us to play together. When I stopped using the laptop, I looked for games available only on the laptop’s Steam account but not on the PC account. They told me those games couldn’t be transferred under any conditions.

Absolutely, it's always worth giving it a try—you might be able to find success, after all. That's the way I see it in certain situations.
