Two routers shared within a single residence.
Hello everyone. I recently purchased an Asus RT-AC66U and am trying to link it to my existing router via the access point mode. My question is: if I connect my new Asus router to my current KPN router, will they both broadcast the same Wi-Fi signal instead of just one? This would be useful so I can place the KPN router downstairs and the Asus router upstairs without having to switch channels. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
AP is set up as an access point. Adjust it to share the same WiFi network and password, turning off the weak Experiabox WiFi and enabling AP mode. If the device doesn’t support AP mode, switch off DHCP on the Asus and connect the KPN router to a LAN port rather than the WAN port.
The Experiabox doesn't support strong Wi-Fi, 101Mbps download, and 25.4Mbps upload. However, connecting your Asus router to the Experiabox in AP mode will allow both devices to function properly, providing a stable Wi-Fi connection throughout the house, including upstairs and downstairs. Your television can also connect to the Experiabox.
Thanks a ton! You're welcome. I was worried about things going wrong without you.
Changing things up is part of the process. I wouldn’t understand anything if I didn’t make mistakes sometimes.
