You can connect your network to a different router to expand coverage and add more Ethernet ports. Consider using a secondary router like the ZTE ZXV10 W300 alongside your Huawei B310 for better performance.

Configure the AP on one router, then link to it from another. Enabling AP on the second router might be tricky unless it supports multiple radios. A mesh network option exists, but I’m not very familiar with it and unsure if these devices can handle it.

I also lack much knowledge on networking setup. What is a set-up AP? Your secondary router doesn’t support a standalone AP mode.

AP stands for Access Point. This setup would cause the second router to function more like a pass-through. For Wi-Fi, you can use range extenders.

Looking through the guides I've seen, the secondary router generates an additional SSID. Can you find a method to just broaden one SSID rather than creating another?

You configure the main router to manage DHCP, DNS, and firewall settings. The secondary router is disabled for these services and assigned a static IP within the same network segment. For wireless connections, you must set it up as a bridge, connecting to another Wi-Fi network so it can rebroadcast signals. This expands coverage and enables LAN port access. If wiring is possible, linking via LAN ports instead of the WAN port on the second router preserves its functionality alongside the LAN ports. Alternatively, consider purchasing a Wi-Fi repeater with an Ethernet port to extend connectivity to devices or switches.

I also own a brand new, unused R7300 DST with the powerline extender included. It was probably around 250 when it launched, but if you're interested, I'm willing to give it away for about $70. Honestly, I don't see any point in keeping it right now.

Is the router involved? I'm not certain if sales are permitted in this subforum.
