You didn't need to disconnect all your existing drives when installing Windows on the new SSD.

Open msconfig, go to the boot tab, and edit your boot.ini file. Delete the existing OS setting.

When the second operating system was set up, the installer recognized the previous version and expected a dual-boot setup. Once installed, Windows no longer verifies the presence of all earlier OSes; it simply treats them as present.
