Two issues with my PC
I am experiencing difficulties with inconsistent frame rates at 60 frames per second, which results in a noticeable stutter. After enabling Rivatuner, I observed that my frame times fluctuated consistently between 15 and 20 milliseconds. This likely contributes to the feeling that 62 frames per second feels choppy within Warzone, where capping at a perfect 60 fps is not possible. VSync effectively eliminates the choppiness by stabilizing frame times at 16.6 milliseconds, but introduces significant input lag, a feature I prefer to avoid. Consequently, I disabled VSync and configured Rivatuner to limit my frame rate to 60 fps. While this reduced input delay, I still found it undesirable. My concern is identifying the source of these unstable frame times. My system includes 12 gigabytes of RAM, an RX 580 with 8GB of video memory, and an older i5-3570 processor running at 4.2 GHz. MSI reports that my CPU usage consistently rises to between 80 and 95 percent during gameplay. Furthermore, my GPU rarely reaches full utilization, frequently jumping between 100% and 0%. I suspect my CPU is the root cause of these unstable frame times, and I seek confirmation.
Additionally, I am encountering an issue with screen tearing. Screen tearing appears only when I perform a cold reboot twice during Windows startup. A standard shutdown or restart of my Windows 10 system is not possible; a reboot necessitates two consecutive cold reboots. I am seeking to understand the cause of this behavior and determine a method to consistently reproduce screen tearing.
To optimize your visual experience, consider investing in a monitor that supports either AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-Sync, or one that is compatible with both technologies.
Experiencing performance issues with a 6v6 competition and large-scale battles like Warzone (a 150 player encounter)? My display timings are consistently more stable and provide a noticeably smoother visual experience during smaller engagements. This suggests that the processing power of my computer might be a limiting factor. Furthermore, considering FreeSync technology, would that not introduce some degree of delay?
