Sure, I can help with that. You're looking to combine two HDDs for better performance and plan to move your games onto a new drive without issues. Since your old HDD is quite old, you should be able to transfer your files safely. Just make sure the drives are compatible and check the compatibility settings before proceeding.

You can install Windows 10 on a fresh drive, connect the previous hard drive, and move all your files smoothly.

Just switch between them if you want. I have 3 O.S.'s on Windows 8, 10 and Pop OS, and I can move between both. Pop is encrypted unless I boot it.

It relies on the specific motherboard OP to handle the preinstalled Windows setup.

Starting Windows 7 could fail completely, the B450 isn't approved for it because there are no native USB drivers. Moving files should still work fine.

Sure, you can try both options and boot from Windows 10 to transfer what you need from the old system. Sounds good!

The board supports a USB adapter that can move files and reinstall Windows 7 via the patch. It also includes PS2 compatibility for driver installation after patching.

Based on the status of Windows 10 upgrade for Windows 7 installs, I’d prefer to convert the existing Windows 7 setup into Windows 10. This would preserve all programs and preferences, then duplicate it to the new drive using tools like EaseUS. It’s a simpler approach that still delivers a comparable outcome.
