I've developed a solid collection of system components over the years and haven't encountered this problem before. I installed a new Corsair RM1000e PSU and it functioned properly for a month. Then my PC began showing instability—lights on the motherboard cycling between CPU and DRAM. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B450 with an Aorus B450 GPU. Initially, I suspected a RAM issue but everything resolved after a few restarts. After re-seating the RAM and removing all sticks except one, I connected my old Corsair CV550 PSU and it worked without problems. However, once I switched to the new RM1000e, the same issues resurfaced. I assumed a power supply failure caused the problem and returned it for replacement. The new unit initially fixed the issue but failed after a restart. I used only the cables provided with the RMA PSU, excluding any previous ones. It worked intermittently with both the original and the new units. Now my system is fully operational with the old 550W PSU, but the new one is not. TLDR: The old CV550 PSU is stable, while the two new RM1000e units are problematic. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you need help checking the voltage readings without a multimeter? You might find useful info on HWInfo for the values being reported.

There is a small chance you lost the PSU lottery *twice*, but it's not that likely. I'd suspect something wonky going on with the mobo.

It's unusual to encounter a brand-new PSU with unexpected behavior. Maybe a design flaw could appear during manufacturing or after modifications. I'd test it by connecting it directly to the system without a case.

I couldn't get to the OS before; it's been hard lately. I recommend using a multimeter to verify the voltage levels.

I first assumed it too, but by reversing the connections and using both external power supplies, simply connecting the 24-pin and CPU power, I switched between the two PSUs at least 25 to 30 times now, and it functions consistently each time.

That's what I thought—I'm just hoping they'll send me more PSU or at least another unit.

Have you attempted to power on the PSU using a jumper on the 24-pin connector? If you connect pins 3 and 4 of the top row while the lock is engaged from the left, try the paperclip test. Then see if it works by connecting something like a fan pump or fan hub with a fan.
