I compared the two RAM options for the CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 and CMK16GX4M2B3200C16. Both models appear to offer the same 3200 MHz speed, but the Z model seems tailored for Ryzen systems and might carry a small risk of Samsung B-DIMM compatibility. The B model, on the other hand, appears more widely available and optimized for Intel platforms. Based on the official pages, they share identical timings for the 3200 MHz variant. For your build with Ryzen 5 2600X or Pro-Aorus 540, the Z model would default to 2666 MHz unless throttled down by the motherboard. The B model is more likely to run at its intended speed without adjustment.

It's the sole component in the setup, so it starts at 2666. However, because it comes with a lower frequency chip from the SPD, both will operate at the slower speed until you activate XMP.

I thought DDR4 memory had a consistent soft or hard lock at 2133/2400mhz regardless of the RAM specifications, but maybe I was mistaken. I’m leaning toward choosing the Z model and would really appreciate more insights on this topic.
