Two distinct applications display significantly varying CPU temperatures.
I was running stress tests on my CPU with AIDA64 Extreme to check performance under heavy load and assess noise levels from the new venturi fans. While monitoring the built-in temperature gauge, I was surprised to find the CPU temperature only at 51°C despite using the Arctic Freezer 13 CO. When I ran CAM by nzxt, it reported around 79°C. I’m wondering which program is providing accurate readings and why I see two different temperatures. Thanks in advance for your assistance!
AMD processors often display inaccurate temperature data. HWmonitor usually provides precise readings. The BIOS isn't reliable for monitoring CPU temperatures. It's not unusual to encounter faulty measurements with AMD CPUs. CoreTemp doesn't consistently perform well with AMD hardware.
Core Temp functioned properly with my Athlon II and Phenom II processors.
Previously observed, CoreTemp tends to be inconsistent across AMD systems over the past couple of years.
