You're wondering if you can transfer games or updates from your old laptop to your gaming PC via a shared drive. It sounds like you're trying to sync your gaming setup, but there are some limitations to consider. Directly plugging in the old laptop and using Steam might not reliably copy games or updates, especially if the old machine isn't running the game smoothly. You'd need a more stable method for transferring files between devices. Let me know if you'd like advice on better options!

It looks like you're questioning the need for certain actions. Unless your gaming PC has a dual-core processor, downloading games shouldn't significantly impact performance. However, if several devices share the same router simultaneously, you might experience increased latency during gameplay.

I want to reduce the speed of the internet. My connection is slow, and when I start downloading a game while playing another one, it becomes very laggy.

Nah, it shouldn't. Most newer routers can handle speeds *much* faster than your internet, so transferring stuff between computers on your home network shouldn't slow it at all unless you tried it on like 20 or 30 at the same time.
