Currently the Steam store offers a collection including Borderlands 3, all DLCs, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands the prequel. I’ve already gone through Borderlands 1 and 2, but I’d like to revisit them. I’m hoping Borderlands 2 would be available in the GOTY edition. If I purchase the GOTY edition of Borderlands 2 separately and then buy the bundle, will the price of Borderlands 2 be deducted from the bundle? Also, if my friend has the Borderlands 2 DLC and I’m hosting, can they play it too?

With the BL2 DLC installed, your friend won’t be able to access it unless both devices have the files. This means any unique items from the DLC—like rare loot—won’t work for them at all.
