Nick... I've had the same idea before too, honestly. Anyway, I'm curious about why Twitch is acquiring the teams...
Wouldn't it be the same as everyone else? Attention? Those groups have strong characters like Fear, Arteezy, AdmiralBulldog, Loda, SingSing (all my partial affection <3). I mean, Esports is expanding quickly and it's becoming more obvious to the public, so claiming a share of it makes sense, doesn't it? Not to mention Twitch already plays a major role in professional Dota 2 since it's essentially the only platform used. Having pro teams boost their own image or grow their brand seems like a smart strategy. I haven't been involved with the pro scene lately and haven't heard much about the deal, so my take might be off. Still, seeing a big company acquire teams is great. More stability and professionalism would benefit the Dota 2 scene, especially given the current chaos from constant changes and tournaments.
They might have felt insecure since no one else had a gaming squad before them. (Hey Team YP!)
