Turning off XMP resolves the problem where the PC reboots upon waking from sleep. Looking for the underlying reason.
Hey everyone, About three weeks ago I shared a problem where my PC would just restart when it was meant to wake from sleep: https://forums. Someone recommended turning off XMP, and luckily that helped. After that, the issue disappeared for the past three weeks. Now I know it’s caused by XMP, so I’m trying to understand the root cause. Could it be because the power isn’t enough for the RAM? Ideally, I want to get the most performance out of my RAM by enabling XMP. Here’s what I have built: Intel i7-13700K ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-F G SKILL TRIDENT Z5 RGB 6000MHz 16GB x 2 WD BLACK SN850X 2TB ASUS 4070TI TUF GAMING BE QUIET! DARK ROCK PRO 4 250W COOLER SILVERSTONE HELA 850W 80+ PLATINUM PCIe5.0 FULL MODULAR PSU ARCTIC P12-120MM FAN
Your XMP configuration is set to OC for the CPU, with a maximum of 5600mhz. For DDR5, adding +400mhz OC provides minimal performance improvements. Avoid rating memory based on MB size; prioritize CPU speed for stability. If you need quicker RAM response, consider upgrading to 5600mhz RAM with improved CL and CAS latency. You can still use your current setup, but lower the XMP setting to 5600mhz.
