Hello ladies and gents, Since I cannot install Bumblebee and I can't find a good and easy/explanatory tutorial for this on the internet as well as nobody is willing to help me on MX Linux forums (and other forums as well) regarding this one.. there I ask: How can I disable the Nvidia GPU completely? (I also tried on youtube, to find a tutorial about installing optimus/bumblebee but it is a complete mistery on the internet and in the Linux world as it seems to me) Here is my spec Spoiler System: Kernel: 5.10.0-13-amd64 x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 10.2.1 parameters: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.10.0-13-amd64 root=UUID=<filter> ro quiet splash Desktop: Xfce 4.16.0 tk: Gtk 3.24.24 info: xfce4-panel wm: xfwm 4.16.1 vt: 7 dm: LightDM 1.26.0 Distro: MX-21.1_x64 Wildflower April 9 2022 base: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) Machine: Type: Laptop System: ASUSTeK product: X541UV v: 1.0 serial: <filter> Mobo: ASUSTeK model: X541UV v: 1.0 serial: <filter> UEFI: American Megatrends v: X541UV.309 date: 04/17/2019 Battery: ID-1: BAT0 charge: 18.0 Wh (69.0%) condition: 26.1/34.6 Wh (75.5%) volts: 10.8 min: 10.8 model: ASUSTeK ASUS Battery type: Li-ion serial: N/A status: Discharging cycles: 1002 CPU: Info: Dual Core model: Intel Core i5-6198DU bits: 64 type: MT MCP arch: Skylake family: 6 model-id: 4E (78) stepping: 3 microcode: EC cache: L2: 3 MiB flags: avx avx2 lm nx pae sse sse2 sse3 sse4_1 sse4_2 ssse3 vmx bogomips: 19200 Speed: 2100 MHz min/max: 400/2800 MHz Core speeds (MHz): 1: 2100 2: 2100 3: 2100 4: 2100 Vulnerabilities: Type: itlb_multihit status: KVM: VMX disabled Type: l1tf mitigation: PTE Inversion; VMX: conditional cache flushes, SMT vulnerable Type: mds mitigation: Clear CPU buffers; SMT vulnerable Type: meltdown mitigation: PTI Type: spec_store_bypass mitigation: Speculative Store Bypass disabled via prctl and seccomp Type: spectre_v1 mitigation: usercopy/swapgs barriers and __user pointer sanitization Type: spectre_v2 mitigation: Retpolines, IBPB: conditional, IBRS_FW, STIBP: conditional, RSB filling Type: srbds mitigation: Microcode Type: tsx_async_abort status: Not affected Graphics: Device-1: Intel HD Graphics 510 vendor: ASUSTeK driver: i915 v: kernel bus-ID: 00:02.0 chip-ID: 8086:1906 class-ID: 0300 Device-2: NVIDIA GM108M [GeForce 920MX] vendor: ASUSTeK driver: N/A alternate: nouveau bus-ID: 01:00.0 chip-ID: 10de:134f class-ID: 0302 Device-3: Chicony USB2.0 VGA UVC WebCam type: USB driver: uvcvideo bus-ID: 1-6:3 chip-ID: 04f2:b52b class-ID: 0e02 serial: <filter> Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 compositor: xfwm4 v: 4.16.1 driver: loaded: modesetting unloaded: fbdev, vesa display-ID: :0.0 screens: 1 Screen-1: 0 s-res: 1366x768 s-dpi: 96 s-size: 361x203mm (14.2x8.0") s-diag: 414mm (16.3") Monitor-1: eDP-1 res: 1366x768 hz: 60 dpi: 101 size: 344x193mm (13.5x7.6") diag: 394mm (15.5") OpenGL: renderer: Mesa Intel HD Graphics 510 (SKL GT1) v: 4.6 Mesa 20.3.5 direct render: Yes Audio: Device-1: Intel Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio vendor: ASUSTeK driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel alternate: snd_soc_skl bus-ID: 00:1f.3 chip-ID: 8086:9d70 class-ID: 0403 Sound Server-1: ALSA v: k5.10.0-13-amd64 running: yes Sound Server-2: PulseAudio v: 14.2 running: yes Network: Device-1: Realtek RTL810xE PCI Express Fast Ethernet vendor: ASUSTeK driver: r8169 v: kernel port: d000 bus-ID: 02:00.2 chip-ID: 10ec:8136 class-ID: 0200 IF: eth0 state: down mac: <filter> Device-2: Realtek RTL8723BE PCIe Wireless Network Adapter vendor: Lite-On driver: rtl8723be v: kernel modules: wl port: c000 bus-ID: 03:00.0 chip-ID: 10ec:b723 class-ID: 0280 IF: wlan0 state: up mac: <filter> Bluetooth: Device-1: Realtek Bluetooth Radio type: USB driver: btusb v: 0.8 bus-ID: 1-8:4 chip-ID: 0bda:b721 class-ID: e001 serial: <filter> Report: hciconfig ID: hci0 rfk-id: 1 state: down bt-service: N/A rfk-block: hardware: no software: yes address: <filter> Info: acl-mtu: 820:8 sco-mtu: 255:16 link-policy: rswitch hold sniff park link-mode: slave accept Drives: Local Storage: total: 1.18 TiB used: 73.7 GiB (6.1%) SMART Message: Unable to run smartctl. Bumblebee lacks a package in MX, so you must install it from source. Details are available in their GitHub repo: https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/Bum...rom-source. Key steps include installing OpenGL (run the terminal commands to add mesa-utils and nvidia packages). After downloading the latest tarball, extract it and configure with the specified parameters. If problems arise, contact their GitHub issues or consider removing your GPU hardware.

I'll give it a shot right now. Thanks! After completing this, can I also install the bbswitch kernel module using sudo apt-get bbswitch? Edit: The wget link and website aren't working, and I don't see a download option for the tarball. I checked their README, but I'm unsure how to build it from source.
