Inspect the motherboard for any harm, bent connectors on headers or connectors similar to the clear CMOS jumper. Verify if a pin detached from the CPU and became lodged in the slot. Check for bent pins on the CPU itself. Test the CPU in another system to confirm stability.

The B550M-PLUS motherboard manual mentions A2 and B2 for dual channel with two sticks, but the setup varies by system. You can find more details here: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/So...?model=TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS Section 1.4 on page 19 (1-9). It suggests starting with one stick per slot to avoid missing a memory channel. If possible, test the CPU on another motherboard. For friends using AM4 systems, try installing your CPU there first—if it works, you can then test with your RAM. I saw someone in a discussion flashing the wrong BIOS on their board; double-check that your model is B550 M-Plus, not B550 Plus. The BIOS for the B550 M-Plus is available at: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-compon...B550M-PLUS. Honestly, it seems your board might be damaged, especially since another CPU didn’t boot. Can you recall which part of the CPU had a bent pin? A photo would be very helpful. If the BIOS is correct, your CPU and RAM should fit another system—then you might need to return it for repair.

I checked using five different sticks in the B2 slot, and some without B2 at all. The same results appeared. This is the M version of the motherboard when switching from ATX to mATX. The bent pin was one of the corner ones, near the end of that corner. I plan to borrow a B550 board tomorrow for testing. Thanks for all the advice!

Check this diagram: the bottom-right area holds the memory channels. Disconnecting one can eliminate that channel completely. Let me know if you need more clarity.

This information is helpful. It seems to match A37 or AT39.

Checked the hardware on another Oard motherboard and it appears to function properly, with image and POST operations working. I was able to access the BIOS and verify that all RAM modules are detected. I've filed an RMA for the motherboard.
