Trying to set up Windows 10 but hitting the "Getting Ready" screen repeatedly.
Windows functioned properly initially but my brother needed a larger case for improved airflow. I assisted him, installing all components except the old PSU, which performed adequately. After switching to the new case, the PC started acting oddly—Windows seemed corrupted. I used an installer from USB and booted up the machine. Despite following every troubleshooting guide, the process stalled repeatedly. No matter how long I waited or changed RAM, USB ports, or other settings, it never progressed. I've tried numerous fixes, but nothing resolved the issue. Ubuntu is working well with all components detected. I'm stuck and unsure what to do next. The PC specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 RTX 2080, 16GB DDR4 RAM (2666 MHz), 550W PSU B450I, GAMING PLUS MAX WIFI. I'm attempting to install directly via WinToUSB and a USB-to-SATA adapter onto my working system. I'll report back once I have an update.
It's still in the process of getting set up. I won't be online tonight. Staying on Ubuntu isn't feasible since my brother plays siege and Ubisoft doesn't like Linux.
I finally figured it out. It turned out @emosun was right, but it wasn't the ethernet that needed unplugging. I had to turn off the built-in Wi-Fi in the BIOS for it to function properly. Thank the lord it works now.
