My understanding of the manual suggests the installation method described fits the hardware. However, it seems unusual to run the drive upside down and vertically—this might be a common concern. You should verify if this is standard practice or if there’s a specific reason for the design.

Hard drives aren't affected by their position during operation since orientation remains constant while they run.

Hard drives are unaffected by their orientation. They function properly whether upright or inverted. The securing system must be robust enough to keep the drive stable—if you need extra assurance, inspect the tabs regularly to confirm they remain intact.

Brings back memories of the Xbox360. Any console with a hard drive could work, but the 360 was the one I first and last mishandled a disk. When I was younger, I thought the Xbox should stand up while playing, following the new design trend. I ended up losing my game.

It's not always the case—if the adjustment is gradual, the drive should be okay. That means if I need to slightly angle my chassis while the computer works on a quick fix, most drives will hold up as long as it's smooth. Edited November 23, 2023 by Godlygamer23
