Trying to boost performance on an old system running a nuclear Bom game.
I possess this nuclear device, excuse my computer... I tried to speed it up but not risk turning it into something dangerous. He's quite old and I mainly use it for League of Legends, though lately he's been using more power and I'm not sure what's causing it... The processor is aging, but that's all I have. If anyone could help make it run smoothly, I'd really appreciate it. Specs: CPU – Amd Athlon II X2 245 2.90 GHz (Dual-Core), GPU – GT 710 2GB (Galaxy), RAM – 4GB DDR2 (that's the board limit). So far I'm using Windows 10 PRO, motherboard MCP6P M2+, yes it's really outdated and I can't afford a replacement anytime soon.
Socket AM3 supports a Phenom II X4, and you can install a GTX 660 Ti inside it.
GT 710 works quite well for me, but the main issue lies with the processor. I don’t want to use anything heavy on the ultra, yet I’m struggling to maintain at least 60 frames per second without noticeable drops. The fluctuations between 80 and 20 or 60 and 30 are really frustrating during games. Even lowering it to 30 fps makes things much worse for quick reactions in LOL.
The look of the motherboard might suggest a lack of advanced BIOS options.
