Maybe consider Csgo instead. I wouldn't push for 4k if the system can't handle it smoothly.
We might share the same age (and I could be even older), and I’m not considered old. For 4K, Metro Exodus was a hit (actually all the Metro series shine in 4K). The newer Dooms games also look great in 4K, though you might have already played them...
Play through 5FPS dota using my t110 Portege. I believe I should stop soon.
Skyrim and Fallout 4 may struggle with performance issues, but these problems seem to occur no matter the resolution.
My suggestions (based on strong performance metrics): - Battlefield titles generally perform well (BF1, BF5 worked fine) - Doom games excel with optimization (great results) - No Mans Sky: achieved 100 fps at 4K - Insurgency Sandstorm - Forza Horizon 4 & 5 - Sons of the Forest - FS2020: stable around 60fps, drops to ~30 in New York with clouds near structures - Cyberpunk 2077: smooth play with ray tracing and DLSS enabled, medium settings, enjoyable to watch - Plus a bunch of older titles (Assassins Creed, Company of Heroes 2, FIFA 2021, Quake II RTX...) This is my personal take, possibly due to not using Ultra on every setting. For maximum 4K play without raytracing, go full 4K without DLSS and push other settings. The 3080 remains a powerful GPU.
