holidays began for me and I’m looking to explore new games. I usually enjoy single-player experiences, but I’m open to trying strategy or open-world titles as well. Just let me know if it’s something solid from the past couple of years. Thanks!

ARMA 3 is the initial thought that springs to mind, not just in order.

Strategy? Company of Heroes (the 2009 version) - CoH2 is a game where you pay to win. Wasteland 2 Open World? Saints row3/4 The next GTA5 (Jan 2015) and obviously, Skyrim (meaning any Elder Scrolls title). If you love RPGs... I suggest Diablo III with the Reaper of Souls expansion (but only if that expansion is included)

It's a simulation game where you operate trucks and transport goods. It's not a narrative-driven experience, though some players have invested significant time in it.

Everwinter from Steam offers great performance at the highest level, mainly through repetitive tasks. It feels similar to playing a free-to-play game of World of Warcraft.
