TrustedInstaller holds all the assets
I observed that TrustedInstaller manages my Windows and program files folders. Is this the intended setup? I struggled to edit the hosts file recently without altering inheritance and losing full access. Would changing ownership of my user account or administrator group affect anything? Trusted install handles C:\, C:\Windows, C:\Program Files, and other system folders. Ownership of my user account is within the administrator group C:\ (my account has read/execute and list) while the admin group retains full privileges. C:\windows is owned by my account with read/execute and list permissions, and the admin group inherits special rights.
This behavior is typical to prevent users from accidentally damaging files and making the operating system inoperable. You can still add administrators to the file's owner list and modify its actions as needed.
