Hey everyone, I'm attempting to push my 7700k further. I've set the 5GHz profile on my motherboard and it's running smoothly with stable performance. However, during VR sessions the temperatures climb into the mid-90s. I've read that a standard BIOS profile can draw excessive voltage, so I opted for the 5GHz setting to try and reduce heat. I found a guide on ASUS' site that suggests adjusting the VCore to 1.35V for better stability, but my readings during stress tests show it's only around 1.312V. The temps remain low in full load, yet XTU keeps reporting errors and crashes at 1.38 and 1.39V. The HWinfo shows VCore maxes at 1.328V, but it doesn't update properly. I've tried increasing the VCore incrementally in manual mode, but XTU still fails. OCCT also caused issues and crashes at similar points. I've checked without XMP enabled, but the room temperature fluctuates between 20-22°C. I'm puzzled about why the auto profile works at high temps but not when I manually tweak settings. My system specs are: Asus ROG STRIX Z270i gaming mini-ITX, Intel 7700k, Crucial BL2K8G36C16U4B 3600MHz DDR4, Silverstone Strider 75F-GS v3.0, 750W power supply. The LLC is configured at a specific voltage. BIOS needs updating, and I recommend avoiding 1.385V continuously; aim for a Vcore below 1.35V if you can.

Thanks for the update. The bios have been revised, and I haven’t run a test yet to confirm the improvement. The previous version mentioned stability benefits, but I’ll check tomorrow. Regarding vcore settings, you’re right about keeping it at 1.4v max—it’s generally safe, though some sources suggest up to 1.4v could work with a slight CPU impact. The 5GHz profile handled well, showing a core voltage of 1.365v when using the 1.385v setting. Measured via OCCT and HWinfo, it stayed below 1.328, which aligns with expectations.

After reviewing the documentation, I adjusted the settings to level 4 for a more balanced experience. I conducted additional tests at a CPU ratio of 49 and achieved a stable 1.285vcore, which equated to 1.28vcore. This remained consistent over time. When lowering to 1.28v, the system passed an XTU stress test. I then increased it to 1.29v for added assurance, maintaining stability. Testing at 5.0GHz improved reliability, though I needed to adjust the vcore to around 1.35v to avoid immediate failures during testing. Eventually reaching 1.36vcore brought temperatures back to normal, though it took time. All Vcore values between 1.345 and 1.36 consistently delivered around 1.344v, surpassing the previous 1.328v threshold. I’m satisfied with 4.9GHz at 1.29v, with temperatures hovering near 80°C under load. The small variation between 4.9GHz and 5.0GHz isn’t significant enough for me unless I upgrade cooling or hardware. Thanks again for your guidance, Mateyyy.
