I own an HP Omen equipped with an i7 7700hq and a 1070. Recently, my fiancé was using Sims on it and it crashed completely. She pressed the power button to shut it down, but when trying to restart it, the system kept flashing the caps three times before failing again. The screen backlight intensifies during these flashes, yet it doesn’t manage to display anything clearly. I tried adjusting the RAM, testing each slot individually with no battery connected, and verified all connectors are properly seated.

You checked for the issue using Google and found it might relate to a memory problem or a failed BIOS update. You mentioned trying single-channel on each port and tested with both modules separately. This suggests the problem could be with the motherboard itself.

I installed two brand new RAM sticks. Tested each slot using a different stick, with four slots in total—two confirmed to work. I’m concerned it won’t power through a full Caps Flash, possibly due to the power adapter.
