Troubleshooting: High Disk Usage at 100%
As a beginner with computers, I’m experiencing an issue where my disk utilization reaches 100% when launching games, particularly Apex Legends, and Google Chrome. My system specifications include a Ryzen 5 2600 processor, an ASRock AMD AM4 B450M Steel Legend motherboard, DDR4 16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, a GTX 1660 Ti graphics card, a 240 GB SSD, and no traditional hard drive. Despite this configuration, I still possess 106GB of free space on my SSD. I apologize if this post is not appropriate for this forum. Thank you for your assistance.
Begin a game, subsequently use Alt-Tab to switch windows and observe the process monitor. Verify that your RAM isn't consistently operating at 90% or higher. Alternatively, within the task manager’s “Performance” section, initiate “Open Resource Monitor” and navigate to the Disk tab, sorting by disk utilization. If a program such as System is identified, clicking on it will reveal the specific files it’s accessing and generating in the lower bar beneath. This can be useful for pinpointing the source of excessive disk activity.

This can occasionally assist in identifying the source of elevated disk usage.
You ought to have selected a single platform, either Windows forums or PC gaming, rather than attempting both... consequently it’s now located in the same area. This reduces the possibility of contradictory recommendations if you only have one issue being addressed simultaneously.
