Greetings,

I frequently enjoy playing GTA 5, and I recently examined my system’s task manager. My memory usage consistently reached 71 percent, and this is typically the maximum I observe. My processor generally operates at around 23 percent, while my other components remain largely inactive. When I check performance indicators, the system reported that GTA 5 was consuming a significant amount of my RAM, with only 4.5 GB remaining accessible. Is this concerning? My game performance is generally smooth, but I’m wondering if there are methods to minimize the RAM usage for GTA 5. My game settings are set to a moderate level, though not so low that it degrades the visual quality. I’m simply seeking information – should I be concerned about having only 4.5 GB of RAM available while playing GTA 5, given that I possess 16 GB total? Additionally, is it problematic to notice my computer fans running consistently and my graphics card temperature reaching 65 degrees Celsius?

Seeking assistance,
Ryan

Your device will function adequately, and applications and games will utilize the memory they need, provided you don’t exhaust its capacity, which won't cause any slowdowns. Regarding your graphics card temperatures, a reading between 65 and 75 degrees Celsius while playing games is generally acceptable.

Your system is operating optimally, and any applications or games will utilize the memory they need, provided you haven’t reached your device's capacity. Regarding your graphics card temperatures, a range of 65 to 75 degrees Celsius during intense gaming is typically acceptable.

The operating system will assign memory according to the game's requirements and available resources. For a 16GB configuration, performance appears suitable (I’ve played Grand Theft Auto V on machines with 4GB to 16GB of RAM without significant issues). The graphics card temperature appears adequately cool, but could you please specify your graphics card model?

I reside in a notably dusty location, which causes me concern about potential damage to my computer. I frequently clean my PC with a non-static cloth in an attempt to mitigate this risk.

While dust isn't inherently harmful, it can gradually impede airflow, leading to increased temperatures. Therefore, regular cleaning is beneficial. If your computer case lacks filters, inexpensive magnetic PC dust filters can be affixed to the intake vents. Alternatively, a homemade solution involves removing case fans, placing pantyhose over them, and reattaching. When the pantyhose become soiled with dust, simply vacuum them clean.

I haven’t encountered that before, but it seems logical provided they avoid being trapped within the blades.

Is it acceptable for my computer to accumulate dust, considering I reside in a particularly dusty environment? Also, is it normal to hear my fans operating at this point? My central processing unit temperature reads 49 degrees Celsius, while my hard drive is at 26 degrees Celsius. My PCIe sensor indicates 43 degrees Celsius, and my graphics card temperature fluctuates between 59 and 60 degrees Celsius, occasionally rising. Finally, is it alright that my memory is currently heavily utilized due to playing Grand Theft Auto 5?

It’s common to notice your computer’s cooling fans running, particularly when playing games.

I own an Alienware Aurora R7. Could you advise me on opening the case and cleaning the accumulated dust inside?
