Troubleshoot the issue with AdviceSolid white DRAM LED and GPU not starting up.
Hi everyone and thanks in advance.
I’ve been making some upgrades recently and managed to start for the first time yesterday. Most things are booting up, but the GPU isn’t responding. The fans aren’t turning on and there’s no signal detected. The motherboard shows a DRAM debug LED warning, though the RAM seems fine. I’ve tested with just one stick and swapped them around, but nothing changes. I also tried using the old graphics card (MSI GeForce 770) and it seems to boot, but I still don’t get any signal—maybe the cables aren’t working. All connections have been double and triple checked, and everything looks new.
Here’s what I have installed:
- Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8GHz
- GPU: Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB GDDR6
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600MHz
- Cooling: Tempest Liquid Cooler 240mm
- Power Supply: Nox Hummer GD850 850W 80 Plus Gold
Any suggestions or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if my English isn’t clear—I’m not fluent.
Thank you very much.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Could you tell me which two slots are being filled by the RAM modules on the motherboard? I’ve been upgrading my system recently and started booting up for the first time. It would help if you could clarify what you upgraded from, especially if your PSU has been running for a while. Please also mention the age of the power supply unit if applicable.
They are placed on the DIMMA2 and DIMMB2 according to the manual. I installed the DIMMA2 first (though I’m not sure if that’s the correct naming, it’s the second and fourth from the left). I upgraded the entire system at once because my components were more than 10 years old and no longer functional. Thanks for the clarification and welcome!
