I'm updating a rig for a client's son, giving it a fresh makeover. I installed a brand new SSD right away. But when I reached the Windows installation screen, it warned me, "A copy of Windows already exists. Please remove installation media and boot into Windows." It's a clean drive!!! What's happening??!?!?! Edit: Before you ask, yes—I replaced the old M.2 and it started up quicker than my thoughts can process.

Consider using a different SSD or HDD, and test another SATA port and cable.

I changed to yet another new SSD and that resolved the issue. I think the SSD might have been defective. I don’t get how it happened, but it did. Please verify if your warranties remain valid. I’m certain you will. Thanks for recommending a new SSD.
