Troubles with Ryzen 7 5800x overheating?
I've just set up my own PC for the first time and have been monitoring its performance. The temperatures on my Ryzen 7 5800x are a bit higher than usual, especially when tasks like opening Chrome or Outlook load. I've noticed spikes reaching 65°C to 70°C during those moments, while idle temps stay between 45-55°C. It seems the BIOS is running at its default settings, and I only adjusted the RAM XMP profile. The thermal paste I applied was a bit thicker than before, but it didn't help much. Under heavy use, temperatures climb to 80-89°C with high CPU load, while the GPU stays steady around 65°C. It's not unusual for this model under stress, but if you're concerned, consider checking cooling efficiency or upgrading components.
Looking for an upgrade? This model seems solid, but I can suggest some alternatives if you're seeking something different.
Avoid using NZXT or Hw monitors. Measure clocks with Cpu-z. Check the correct clock on the speedometer for all cores.
