I maintain a stable OC with 8 loops on x264 stability test; core temp stays below 85°C. System specs: BCLK 100, CPU multiplier 47x, Uncore multiplier 46x, VRIN 1.700v, Core VID 1.33v. All other parameters auto. RAM runs at 800MHz and 1.5v.
Using these settings, Memtest86+ v7.4 either freezes or reports errors. I increased VRIN to 1.15v from Auto (which was 1.05v) but still couldn’t enter BIOS. Then I manually set it to 1.05v and the same issue persisted. Finally, I switched to Normal mode, kept offset at 0.000v, but nothing changed.
I’ve read some guides suggesting safety up to 1.25v VRIN, yet this doesn’t work. Increasing VRIN to 2.00v didn’t help either. Can anyone explain why changing the voltage manually isn’t resolving the problem? Thanks.
Your BIOS should begin displaying a warning if you attempt to set any value beyond the acceptable range. I remember my cache voltage was higher than 1.25 when auto was enabled. My Vcore is configured at 1.3875... but I don't have access to the spreadsheet I used. Input Voltage is currently set to 1.88, which caused problems.
