My main PC is a Dell Precision T3680 with a GTX 1060 and 3GB RAM. It doesn't matter what I'm trying to do, I want to set up Wake on LAN so I can remotely power on my PC, connect my phone, and link it from my laptop. Since my house is in another city, I need the PC to be reachable from there for remote gaming. I've watched several YouTube tutorials on enabling Wake on LAN, but everything seems to fail—apps appear but don't work, or the MAC address shows as unavailability. When I try using WoW or the Wake on LAN apps from the Android store, they either show the option but don't let me activate it, or when I attempt an auto scan it says "MAC address unavailability." Also, AnyDesk doesn't recognize the Wake on LAN device. I really need assistance so I can enjoy gaming on my laptop without any issues.
It's a Wake on LAN connection, where LAN refers to a Local Area Network. You must be connected to the same network as the device you're sending the magic packet. If you're attempting WoL from offsite, it won't function unless a VPN is configured so you can communicate with the LAN remotely.
