Triple channel RAM configuration
Triple channel RAM configuration
Triple channel RAM is fine. With your current 16GB RAM, adding two more 8GB units would give you a total of 32GB. Place the slots strategically for optimal performance—ideally in the fastest or most frequently used slots to maximize output. Let me know if you need more details!
on a consumer platform you won't receive triple or quad channel options, you'll be limited to single channel. The CPU paired with the motherboard will typically handle all DIMM_A and DIMM_B slots in dual channel mode, which should work fine. Keep in mind that adding more memory increases the workload on your memory controller, which usually remains within acceptable limits. Edited March 30, 2023 by GorujoCY
Is this x58 or is this a different platform? Cause x58 does have triple channel support but everything else has either moved on to quad channel (hedt) or still on dual channel (mainstream) If you wanna run an imbalance config its not prefferable but i still managed to clock 1520 ddr2 on a 1x3 config (so one of the channels is in dual rank the other in single rank)
I don't have that information. Could you provide the details or check your device specifications?
Motherboard from Asus Prime Z370 motherboard - Intel Core i9 9900K processor, P-cpu, 16GB RAM, G Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 3200Mhz, 16GB GPU, Leadtek RTX 2080 Super.
This model only offers two channels, each with two slots. Use 2x16 in slots 2 and 4 starting from the CPU.
