Trapped in Windows boot menu after failures, just a second display detected
Hey there, I'm here to help. You've got a crucial setup with your specs—i5 4460, R9 280x, and 8GB RAM. The crashes started after four years, especially during Overwatch gameplay when the screen turned all one color. Even though your GPU stats look normal, you're stuck on this page: https://imgur.com/a/Dpxk5DE. You tried restarting, cleaning, using Ccleaner, running Avira, and booting into safe mode—still no luck. What do you think might be causing the issue?
potential issues here: memory problems—check the BIOS to ensure all RAM is recognized. If you have several RAM modules, test with just one in Windows settings. Some files might be corrupted; running a clean Windows install could help. There could be a minor graphics card issue—try connecting the monitor directly to the built-in graphics and see if the problem persists. Your data should likely be recoverable, either from memory errors or file corruption.
Thanks! I attempted to boot with just one RAM stick, but the screen showed this image instead of anything. The other monitor didn’t display anything. I need guidance on performing a clean install without affecting my existing data, and I don’t have my Windows key—it’s been over four years. How can I proceed?
UPDATE: i pressed the reset button when windows boot manager showed up and my computer is back to normal. But i think this is temporary like the first times i restarted my computer. I don't think i can launch overwatch again but dont really want to try it... What am i supposed to do to keep everything normal again
I just moved the essential files to my drive, but then I had to shut down the computer to sleep and now the strange displays are appearing again. What should I do? When I tried to reinstall Windows yesterday, it said "could not find the recovery environment."
