Hello everyone, I’m looking for some tips on translating Windows. I’ve installed a language pack, but most of the OS remains in its original language. For instance, when trying to run my C++ executable, the error message appears in the language I had on my laptop, which is confusing. Is it really feasible to translate the entire operating system?

The license is no longer tied to a specific language because of Windows 8.

The error comes directly from the software itself, not from translation services. Each developer invests effort and resources to ensure their product is available in multiple languages, targeting the audiences they believe will use it most. While open source initiatives differ from paid solutions, this work is typically done by volunteers—programmers who speak another language alongside English.

The error indicated missing DLL files, which I resolved. My laptop was purchased in Germany with a German language version of Windows. After installing the English language pack, parts of the interface still showed German text, which is frustrating. It seems a clean installation would fix the issue.
