I've reached the end of Windows 8.1 pro. I'm moving to Windows 7. Here are the main reasons why I don't like Windows 8.1:

1. Entirely different interface – it confuses users and customers. You don’t just throw a new GUI at them without explaining how to use it properly.
2. Frequent volume problems. When I switch between music and typing on Chrome, the volume drops suddenly in the mixer, unlike my previous Windows 7 systems.
3. Multiple driver conflicts with my graphics card. Both Asus and AMD drivers caused artifacts and glitches; even adjusting clock speeds didn’t help. It’s been a constant struggle with my GPU compared to the owner of this machine who used Windows 7.

I’ve also noticed a 200GB boot drive is failing. I’m planning a fresh, clean installation on a 500GB drive, hoping it works better. Until then, goodbye Windows 8 – I’m done with it.

They are available on Windows 7 as well. I use them sometimes while working on Windows 7 Professional. The issue seems unrelated to the operating system itself.

I've never encountered any problems with Windows 8.1. It seems perfect for the initial version of a brand-new layout.

The downgrade to Windows 7 isn't progressing, and there were no issues mentioned. The version runs slower.

I consider it a significant improvement. My experience with Windows 8 was extremely poor.

I'm keeping it at version 8.1 until the new release in about a year. I've faced some problems with multiple GUIs, but fixing half of them came from using the classic start menu. There have been no volume or driver issues aside from the occasional hiccup between GeForce Experience and Windows Update, which would crash Steam every 20 minutes for two days before it was resolved.

Two issues can be resolved. 1. Restart the device 2. Right-click the speaker icon in the lower-right corner > Sounds > Communications > Disable
