the concerns : STEAM games With a 150KB/s internet connection, i aim to back up my games. currently i have backups but haven't used the steam backup feature. i just copied the game folder from steam to an external hard drive for safety. can i transfer the games to windows 10 later without issues? should i install windows first and then activate a cracker, or vice versa? EDITED!!!

6. Piracy, copyright content, cracks and product keys... You shouldn't ask, share, link to or activate any actions related to obtaining or sharing pirated software, cracked products, keys, or copyrighted material including TV recordings. Doing this might lead to account suspension without warning. [...] Regarding your Steam games, they should work if you save them in the correct folder later. You might need to click 'install' and then Steam will recognize the games once installed.

If they're genuine Steam games then they're stored in the cloud. This means the same saves work across all computers connected to the same network. You also don't have to transfer the entire Steam directory to your external drive—just the save folder located in the documents folder, as I recall. <== Search for more info

He seems more worried about downloading a large Steam library than about saving games, especially with a poor internet connection.
