Think about a gaming tower and a travel tablet—what games are you thinking of playing while on the go?

For those who claim "build a tower," "you'll save money" or similar, it's just nonsense. He isn't aiming for the best configuration, and he’s clearly willing to pay for the convenience a laptop provides. If a tower doesn’t suit his needs, telling him to get one isn’t helpful. I’m aware I’m being critical, but not everyone wants the top performance or the latest graphics. The specs look decent. You probably won’t be able to push settings to their limits in newer triple-A titles, but they should run smoothly at medium to high levels. 16GB RAM would be ideal if you plan to use it for work tasks like rendering and editing, though 8GB is more than enough. By the way, do you think you’re a student?

Right now I'm enjoying a lot of Wrath of the Legends, but I'm also eager to try more games... Far Cry 4, the Bio Shock series, Battlefield Hardline, and several others are on my list.

Check out Linus' video on the 980m and 970m sections—it gives a solid idea of what to expect. In short, yes, it should work just as well as a console, possibly even better.

You’ll perform well for a minimum of 4 to 5 years (not top-tier). Welcome to PC Gaming! Edit – your FPS for Battlefield: Hardline at high settings is 83.4, while at ultra it drops to 51.4.

Looking at standard 970m benchmarks shows most games run smoothly at over 60 FPS in 1080p, with a few exceptions like Unity.

Consoles aren't famous for their powerful parts. A $500 PC often works better for gaming. Therefore, paying £1200 for a console isn't appealing, which means it doesn't stand out as an advantage.

I'm having trouble fitting a tower into my current situation, so I'm going for a compact ITX desktop setup.
