Hey there! I appreciate your kind words. Your setup looks solid but you're looking to improve performance for competitive gaming. After five years, it makes sense to consider a CPU upgrade—especially since you enjoy games like Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch. You mentioned a 144Hz monitor, which is great, but boosting FPS could really enhance your experience.

Your current rig has a decent build: an i7-4790K, MSI SLI Z97, Hyper 212 air cooler, 24GB RAM, and a GTX 1070. The R7 3700X is a solid choice if you're aiming for better performance without going all-in on overclocking. If you're not keen on heavy modifications, the X570 or X470 could be worth exploring for more cores.

You’ve got a nice monitor setup, but upgrading your power supply might help with stability during long sessions. As for the power supply, I’d recommend something reliable and efficient—look for one with good wattage and good ratings.

Your Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3600 looks like a solid choice, especially if you plan to expand later. Just make sure to check compatibility with your motherboard and consider future upgrades.

Let me know if you want help picking specific parts or finding the best deals!

If immediate upgrades aren't necessary, the latest CPUs, GPUs, and B550 components are just around the corner. I’d hold off on those. The additional 4-pin connector is mainly for pushing overclocking further. For suggestions, look at the PSU tier list on the forum—people often recommend the cooler Master MWE. You might also find a good deal by purchasing a case and saving about half the cost.

Hold on a few more days before the B550 boards arrive. I plan to shop in the used B450 market once it becomes available. If you prefer brand new, look around and see if you can order and pick up your own B550 board. Just don’t expect them to sell out quickly or reach the EU right away.

@Dransk shares your thoughts on the Corsair 460X. The design of the front case is quite limited due to the solid glass panel, which blocks airflow to the three front fans. It’s recommended to explore other options. Check alternatives like the Phanteks P400A Digital for $159 or the Fractal Design Meshify C Tempered Glass Edition for $150. If you need the Corsair 460X, the 465X is a better fit as an updated version at $235. Also, the Corsair IUE 465X RGB is available for $235.

I understand it wasn't the best situation, but I received it as a gift. It brings me joy. The market was quite different then, and I appreciate the style.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll hold off a while. My graphics card is used, I've never owned one before. I got the CPU cheap in the US at Micro Center when I was young. I'm planning to switch to a new motherboard and CPU because there are many issues I can't fix right away, like DIMM slots and other tricky parts. Thanks!
