Transition from i7-8700K to i9-9900K
I bought an i9-9900k to upgrade this machine, especially since new components are arriving soon. I plan to build a fresh setup for myself and possibly gift it to my girlfriend with an RTX 3080ti if available. I’m curious whether inserting it and booting up would require a full OS reinstall or just a simple restart. Any helpful advice would be great—thanks!
swap the CPU and apply fresh thermal paste again. For a new tube, I suggest Noctua NT-H2. If you haven’t updated your BIOS yet, check out this link: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-MA..._Download/
I’ve tried the Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black and updated the BIOS. Appreciate the help!
