Consider the implications of moving your entire old drive into the new C drive. This could overwrite existing data, potentially erasing important files or settings unless you back them up first.

It varies by information. Certain aspects will work smoothly, while others could cause issues since NTFS was changed to require installation at D: rather than C:\.

You can safely copy individual files or documents. Attempting to duplicate the entire drive may cause issues. For replication purposes, using the drive cloning software you need is recommended. Remember to clearly define your objectives.

making copies of certain files isn't a major issue, but simply copying and replacing the contents of c:\users will likely cause your Windows installation to fail.

It’s similar to replacing the old mattress with a fresh one, yet you want to place the new one underneath... Build applications from the ground up. Raw data files can be transferred easily.
