I struggled to find a clear solution for my setup after completing the build. My system includes an Intel i5 12600K, RX 6600XT, and a Z690 DDR4 board with 32GB G.Skill memory. It was my first fully independent installation, running Windows 10 smoothly thanks to the latest guide. After adding extra hard drives, I encountered an issue—initially thought it was a faulty drive, but later suspected static discharge on the motherboard. Now it won’t boot into Windows, and repair seems out of reach given my current situation.

I’m considering whether I can simply replace the OS drive with a fresh one, or if cleaning and reinstalling would be a better approach. The SSD is a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe 1TB. If you’re unsure about damaging anything, I’d suggest proceeding carefully and following proper steps. Thanks for your help—I’ll keep you updated!

Typically it functions smoothly. It’s especially reliable if your equipment matches the earlier version. Simply test it; if problems arise, perform a clean install. For a new setup, launch the installer from USB and wipe all partitions before reinstalling on the same device. If you must erase critical information prior to resale, consider using Secure Erase.
